Working together

There is a growing body of empirical research which supports the positive impact of coaching for leaders and members of their organisations in terms of facilitating goal achievement. Depending on the topics which you bring to coaching, you would expect to see both personal changes and changes in relationships with others. The former might include increased self-awareness, self-confidence and self-leadership. While the latter might include development of leadership style, relationships with line managers and other employees, relationships to power, conflict and personal lives. In addition, if a positive psychology approach is taken, these topics can be looked at side by side with increasing our own and others' well-being.

Team coaching and facilitation can address the same issues as well as, for example, the psychological safety within the team (often cited as one of the key ingredients of high performing teams), identifying the purpose and values of the team and enabling future decision-making to align with these.

I am based in Henley-on-Thames, England and I coach in person, by phone, Skype and Zoom depending on clients' needs and practicalities.

Set out below is a little more information about how we might work together. Please get in touch if you would like to continue the conversation to see how I might help you or your organisation.

You will know which opportunities and challenges of leadership you would like our coaching work to focus on. Often new topics emerge from our work together as we proceed. By way of example, topics which clients have brought with them to explore and work on include:

Moving from technical expertise to leadership

Communicating effectively and authentically

How to work well with ‘difficult’ team members

Establishing psychological safety in teams

Making decisions

Changing patterns of behaviour (for example defensiveness, procrastination)

Having been invited to take part in research and writing on the effects of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® on team psychological safety, collaboration and cohesion whilst at Henley Business School, I became very interested in this method of enabling teams to improve the quality and speed of decision making and identify and align their actions with their values.    LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is a facilitated thinking, communication and problem solving technique for organisations, teams and individuals drawing on extensive research from the fields of psychology, learning, business and organisational development.

I am now a trainer certified by the Association of Master Trainers in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method and run bespoke workshops for teams.

More information and FAQs about the methodology are available on the Association of Master Trainers website.

If you're curious to find out if this approach might benefit your organisation, do get in touch for an initial conversation.

An authentic and engaging speaker, I have spoken on topics relating to positive psychology and well-being generally and in the context of employee engagement and I'm always open to new opportunities.
